Network Parties

The new channels of political participation, as well as a new way of exercising power, more open and inclusive, are still to be defined.

There are many people working on these issues. Journalism and political analysts have characterized them as “network parties.” Some examples are:

The citizens who promote them pose an intelligent question, in my opinion, formulated as follows: “if the network is modifying all areas of society, creating new jobs, new business models and new forms of social expression; Why is democracy still based on a nineteenth-century format and technology?”

The Pirate Party, for example, works with a program called “Liquid Feedback” creating a participatory and interactive process, anyone can delegate their vote thanks to a trusted network.

Network parties are, first of all, open processes and are, voluntarily, unfinished devices. They intend to generate platforms, protocols and tools for others to use. Anyone can use the device, regardless of the content that is created with it.

Its logic is to synthesize opinions instead of displacing those who think different and that is why they resist excessively personalized leaderships.
