Carlos studies why some countries grow faster than others, the role of institutions and technological change, and the provision of global public goods. He regularly presents his ideas, captured in ten books and numerous papers, at conferences around the world.
Advisory Board Member at the Latin American Program of the Wilson Center (2022) and Academic Council member of Global Affairs (CARI´s publication), he has been Senior Fellow of the Chongyang Institute of Financial Studies (Renmin University of China (2013); Visiting Professor (University San Ignacio of Loyola, 2015); Associate Professor of Economic Policy (University of Salvador, 2009) and Senior Associate Member (p 95) of St Antony’s College (University of Oxford, 2006).
Was invited Expert by the Independent Panel on Preparedness and Response to Pandemics (WHO 2020, p 81), and Member of the Commission for Biodiversity, Ecosystems, Finance and Development (UNDP 2010 p 16).
He served as Assistant Professor of Import and Export (Belgrano University) and Professor in Latin American Economic Affairs (University of Salvador, 1990), Microeconomics Assistant (practical work, 1986) and Technical Coordinator in Research Methodology at UBA (1987). Carlos took courses on debt negotiation (IDLI) and Mergers and Acquisitions (Wharton).
While studying Business Administration, was elected to the Academic Council of his Faculty (Economic Sc., University of Buenos Aires) by the Students Council.
