Former Latin American presidents and specialists in education met at the 19th plenary session of the Montevideo Circle Foundation. The event, held in Peru for the first time, addressed the topic of “Education today: What and how?” in which the speakers discussed the main challenges in education in Latin America.
During the opening of the event, Julio María Sanguinetti, founder of the Montevideo Circle and former president of Uruguay, said that the current challenge in our region is to reduce the existing gap between education and society. “Education should give individuals what society needs; technology has completely changed the paradigms.”
